This non-refundable pet fee permits up to a maximum of 2 pets (typically dogs; confirm with management for other types if applicable) to accompany you during your stay at the resort. The fee supports enhanced cleaning and maintenance to keep our property enjoyable for all guests and members.

Key Guidelines:

• A maximum of 2 pets per reservation/stay is allowed—no exceptions without prior approval.
• Pet owners are fully responsible for the supervision, behavior, care, control, and any damages, disturbances, or incidents caused by their pets at all times. Pets must remain leashed in common areas (as required) and well-behaved.
• We strongly recommend bringing current vaccination records for your pet(s). This is important for the safety of everyone involved—including other members, guests, staff, and animals—in the event of any health or incident concerns. Our members are required to keep their pets’ vaccinations current, and having records available helps maintain a secure, welcoming environment.

By adding the pet fee to your reservation (where applicable), you acknowledge and agree to these terms. Pets are a privilege extended to responsible owners—thank you for helping preserve a positive experience for all at the resort!

Waldenwoods Family Recreation Resort is committed to providing a safe, secure, and family-friendly environment for all guests, members, families, children, and staff.

To support this priority:

• Individuals required to register as sex offenders under any state, federal, or local sex offender registry (including Michigan's Sex Offenders Registration Act) are strictly prohibited from booking, checking in, staying, visiting, or accessing any part of the resort property, facilities, amenities, or events.
• Guests, members, and visitors are not permitted to bring, host, invite, or allow access to any registered sex offender, whether as a companion, family member, friend, or otherwise.
• Any violation of this policy—including attempts to conceal, misrepresent, or fail to disclose the presence or status of a prohibited individual—will result in:
  • Immediate termination of the reservation
  • Immediate termination of membership privileges (if applicable)
  • Eviction/removal from the property for all associated parties
  • No refund of fees, deposits, or payments
• The resort reserves the right to impose an additional administrative fine of up to $1,000 (or the maximum amount permitted under applicable law) to cover costs related to enforcement, security response, staff time, and any associated expenses.
• Violations may be reported to appropriate law enforcement authorities as required or deemed necessary for the safety of our community.

You expressly consent to be contacted by Waldenwoods Family Recreation Resort, our affiliates, agents, service providers, or anyone calling/texting on our behalf, at any phone number (including mobile/cellular numbers) or email address you have provided or may provide in the future. This includes:

• Automated or prerecorded/artificial voice calls
• Text messages (SMS/MMS)
• Emails

These communications may include marketing and promotional messages about our products, services, special offers, discounts, events, updates, and other information we believe may interest you.

In consideration of being allowed to enter Waldenwoods Family Recreation Resort and participate in any way in its events and activities, including its Water Park, and/or use any of its facilities, the undersigned (or the parent/guardian of a minor participant) acknowledges, understands, appreciates, and agrees as follows:

1. The risk of injury from the activities in this program is significant, in large part because of the natural setting. This risk includes the potential for permanent paralysis and death. While particular rules, protective equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist.
2. I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or others, and assume full responsibility for my presence and participation.
3. I AGREE THAT IF I observe any unusual or significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will immediately remove myself from continued participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official immediately.
4. I agree to swim at my own risk and understand there is NO LIFEGUARD on duty at the pool or lake.

Specific Water Park and Pool Rules include:

1. All participants must agree to this waiver before using the equipment; if under 18 years of age, a parent/guardian must agree on their behalf.
2. Children must be at least 13 years old to use the pool or Water Park without a parent present.
3. All participants must wear a life vest at all times when using the Water Park.
4. No rings or external jewelry that could injure others or cause damage are allowed.
5. Have FUN but be COURTEOUS and SAFE: no diving, no rough housing, watch for those below.
6. Follow Waldenwoods Staff direction at all times.
7. Use of the Pool or Water Park is not allowed without authorization or after hours.
8. Violation of these rules is subject to expulsion, suspension, or termination of membership.

Boat Rentals and Water Park Operational Conditions:

• All boat rentals and water park access are subject to availability and operational conditions.
• Standard hours of operation are from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• All standard boat rentals must be returned, docked, and secured by 7:00 p.m. without exception.
• No standard boat rentals or water park access will be permitted after 7:00 p.m.
• Overnight boat rentals are the only rentals permitted after 7:00 p.m. and are available for an additional fee of $10.00 per boat.
• All overnight boat rentals must be paid for and reserved (RSVP) no later than 6:30 p.m.
• Management reserves the right to modify operations or deny access as necessary due to safety, weather, or staffing considerations.

5. Release, Indemnity, and Compensation: Each Member/Guest assumes full responsibility for the following ("Included Events"): all personal injury (including death or illness) and property damage and loss occurring at the Resort or arising out of use of the Resort by (i) the Member/Guest; (ii) any member of the Member/Guest’s Family; and/or (iii) guests and invitees of the Member and the Member's Family. For purposes of the preceding sentence, "full responsibility" means that:

1. The Member/Guest unconditionally releases all claims the Member/Guest would otherwise have against Waldenwoods Family Recreation Resort and/or its employees, agents, and concessionaires for the Included Events;
2. The Member/Guest unconditionally indemnifies and holds Waldenwoods Family Recreation Resort and its employees, agents, and concessionaires harmless from all claims of any person other than the Member/Guest brought against Waldenwoods Family Recreation Resort and/or its employees, agents, and concessionaires relating to the Included Events. As part of the indemnity and hold harmless agreement, the Member/Guest shall pay all losses, liabilities, obligations, damages, penalties, costs, fees (including actual legal fees), charges, judgments, and expenses of any kind whatsoever incurred by or rendered against Waldenwoods Family Recreation Resort, and/or its employees, agents, and concessionaires; and
3. The Member/Guest agrees to compensate Waldenwoods Family Recreation Resort for damage to or loss of property owned by Waldenwoods Family Recreation Resort, its employees, agents, or concessionaires, on account of the negligence or willful acts of (i) the Member; (ii) any member of the Member’s Family; (iii) guests and invitees of the Member and the Member’s Family.

My personal insurance will cover all medical costs for any injury incurred by myself or my child.

For participants of minority age (below the age of 18 at the time of registration): This is to certify that, as a parent/guardian with legal responsibility for this participant, I consent and agree to his/her release as provided above of all Releases, and for myself, my heirs, assigns, and next of kin, I release and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Releases from any and all liabilities incident to my minor child’s involvement or participation in these programs as provided above, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THEIR NEGLIGENCE.

I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY AGREEING TO IT, AND DO SO FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.

Note on Michigan Law: By agreeing to these terms, you acknowledge that this waiver is intended to release claims to the fullest extent permitted by Michigan law. Recent Michigan court decisions have addressed the enforceability of certain parental waivers/indemnifications for minors in for-profit recreational settings; this agreement is provided in good faith and applies as broadly as legally allowable.
