As Event Staff, you’ll play a key role in delivering excellent service while assisting with event setup and supporting operations during the event.


Responsibilities:

  • Event Setup: Prepare event spaces to create the perfect atmosphere for each occasion.
  • Guest Service: Serve food and beverages with professionalism, courtesy, and a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Efficiency: Clear tables quickly and effectively during and after events to ensure smooth operations.
  • Event Support: Arrange tables, chairs, and decorations to help create a seamless event experience.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with kitchen and event staff to ensure timely and smooth service.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Keep event areas clean, organized, and ready for the next event.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or event support is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and handling procedures is preferred.
  • A strong focus on customer service, ensuring each guest has an excellent experience.
  • Ability to work efficiently and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Prep Cook / Line Cook at Waldenwoods Banquet & Conference Center

Responsibilities:

  • Workplace Etiquette: Be courteous, respectful, and maintain an upbeat, positive attitude in the kitchen and with team members.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with the Chef and Managers regarding tasks, updates, and concerns.
  • Station Preparation: Ensure all workstations are efficiently set up with the necessary tools, equipment, and ingredients to ensure smooth and organized food service
  • Knife Safety & Precision: Adhere to safe knife handling practices and maintain a high level of skill and precision when using knives and other cutting tools to ensure both safety and consistent food quality.
  • Food Preparation: Prepare food for service according to recipes, including tasks such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces.
  • Cooking: Cook menu items in coordination with the rest the chef and sous chef, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Timeliness: Ensure food is prepared simultaneously, with high quality, and in a timely manner to meet service demands.
  • Safety & Sanitation: Comply with nutrition, sanitation regulations, and safety standards to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Workstation Cleanliness: Maintain clean and orderly workstations throughout the day.
  • Food Storage: Label, date, and store all food goods and ingredients following proper storage procedures to ensure food safety and freshness.
  • Dress Code & Hand-Washing Compliance:  Adhere to the required uniform standards and follow proper hand-washing procedures to ensure food safety.
  • Management Interaction: Answer, report, and follow instructions from the Executive Chef and Managers as directed.
  • Event Assistance: Assist with the setup and takedown of ceremony or event sites when needed.
  • Additional Tasks: Assist in or execute any other tasks assigned by Managers that need to be completed by the end of the day.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary setting is preferred, but entry-level candidates with a passion for cooking are welcome.
  • Ability to safely and effectively use knives and common kitchen tools.
  • Strong attention to detail in following recipes and maintaining consistency in food preparation.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, handling multiple tasks while ensuring high-quality food preparation.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with kitchen staff and management.
  • Basic understanding of nutrition, sanitation regulations, and safety standards in food preparation.

Sous Chef at Waldenwoods Banquet & Conference Center

The Sous Chef is responsible for overseeing day-to-day culinary operations, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring that quality standards are consistently met. This position assists the Executive Chef with menu creation, food purchasing, inventory management, and maintaining proper food storage and sanitation procedures.


Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Demonstrate courtesy, respect, and maintain an upbeat, positive attitude while managing and motivating kitchen staff.
  • Menu Execution: Assist in creating prep lists and delegate tasks to ensure efficient execution of daily food preparation.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor, organize, and replenish kitchen supplies and ingredients in accordance with inventory guidelines, ensuring all items are appropriately stocked and easily accessible.
  • Knife Safety & Precision: Adhere to safe knife handling practices and maintain a high level of skill and precision when using knives and other cutting tools to ensure both safety and consistent food quality.
  • Food Preparation: Prepare food for service according to recipes, including tasks such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces.
  • Food Preparation Oversight: Delegate and supervise the preparation of all food items, ensuring consistency in quality and portioning.
  • Sanitation & Organization: Oversee and delegate cleaning and organizational tasks, ensuring all kitchen areas meet sanitation standards.
  • Employee Management: Manage employee breaks and ensure kitchen staff remains focused and efficient throughout the shift.
  • Recipe & Dish Quality: Ensure all dishes adhere to established recipes and maintain consistent quality and presentation.
  • Communication: Maintain effectively communication with the Executive Chef, kitchen employees, and event managers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Time Management: Ensure proper time management to execute event timelines and meet service expectations.
  • Kitchen Procedures Compliance: Understand and enforce all kitchen procedures, including safety protocols, food storage, sanitation, and recipe compliance.
  • Dress Code & Hand-Washing Compliance: Adhere to uniform standards and follow proper hand-washing procedures to ensure food safety.
  • Event Assistance: Assist with the setup and takedown of ceremony or event sites when needed.
  • Additional Tasks: Assist in or execute any other tasks assigned by Managers that need to be completed by the end of the day.

  • Previous experience in a culinary leadership role, preferably as a Sous Chef, Line Cook, or similar position.
  • Strong understanding of culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen management.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and manage kitchen operations efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and management.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to ensure consistency in food preparation, presentation, and quality control.
  • Willingness to adapt to new tasks, changes in menu items, and operational needs.

Dishwasher at Waldenwoods Banquet & Conference Center

Responsibilities:

  • Dishwasher Operation: Operate the dishwashing machine correctly and ensure the proper chemical levels are maintained for effective cleaning.
  • Dish Cleaning: Wash, sanitize, and dry dishes according to designated procedures.
  • Storage: Return clean and dry dishes to their designated storage locations.
  • Cleaning & Maintenance: Perform sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming duties as per cleaning protocols.
  • Recycling & Waste Disposal: Break down and recycle cardboard materials and remove trash, replacing trash bags as needed.
  • Event Setup: Assist with the setup and takedown of ceremony chairs or other event-related tasks.
  • Firewood Maintenance: Ensure appropriate levels of firewood are available when required.
  • Additional Cleaning Tasks: Carry out additional cleaning tasks as assigned by management.
  • Workspace Organization: Ensure the dishwashing area remains clean, organized, and operates efficiently. 
  • Dress Code: Adhere to dress code standards while on duty.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
  • Ability to follow procedures precisely and ensure dishes are properly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others.
  • Willingness to take on additional tasks as needed and assist in various areas of the kitchen or venue.
  • Punctual and dependable, with the ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
